Steepster Select #008 Giveaway
I drink tea constantly at work. I use a glass tumbler so everyone is curious and whats in it and they are curious about loose leaf. I have converted 2 coffee drinkers to tea drinkers and we often bring our blends to work and share with each other! It’s like a little tea club!
After I have told them about what makes a tea so good, I offer them a cup. I also explain how I make it and why I do not add anything to it.
I go on about how passionate I am with tea and health. Usually after a 2-3 minutes speech they ask to try some. :D
I’m not particularly out to convert people, but when I drink tea in front of others, I make it cool. Whip out my cute gong fu gear and make a big show about pouring out some delicious tea. I’ve converted my sister, my mother, and my grandmother to loose leaves! My mother is taken in particular with matcha, which I introduced her to as the tea she can put in just about anything! She drinks it as a latte, plain, puts it in her oatmeal… she ended up stealing my entire stash of matcha!
Sadly, The Boy insists that tea tastes like “hot water with bits in”. He’s not much of a hot drink person, though, besides hot chocolate.
Tea parties, and constant reference to the fact that I’m drinking tea. Or, if walking into a tea store and there’s something being sampled, try to get them to try that. :)
I like tea parties the best, though. Gives a reason to dress up and have a nice little get together.
Aroma is usually the biggest selling point when I’m trying to hook a co-worker. That and my standing offer to let friends prowl and browse through my collection.
I usually brew them some quality loose leaf (but I don’t tell them) and ask them what they think of it. Then I pull a tale what have they been drinking so far (referring to tea bags) and what did they just have. It’s somewhat an eye opener, or at least it brings one closer to tea than before.
I always have tea ready and brewed at my house, so hopefully they will like it enough to adventure to ask for more and/or buy some on their own. So far it has been harder than I had imagined….
Aroma, primarily. I tend to have tea with me a lot, so as I’m drinking people nearby tend to catch a whiff and sometimes are intrigued enough to ask what I’m drinking.
1) Give a cup to friends who are visiting my home.
2) Keep a selection at work. When colleagues are feeling under the weather or too far gone with coffee, they enjoy the novelty of picking from my collection (usually more interesting than the standard Lipton bags and K-cups in the office kitchen).
