Teapot warmers

What is the general opinion on teapot warmers? I’ve always wanted one especially for when I have tea outside but when looking at different styles I wonder about the tea light flame harming the bottom of a china or ceramic teapot. Anyone have experience with them?

I have a cast iron teapot warmer & I love it. I just checked out my teapots & I don’t see any burns on the bottoms & I have China, porcelain & glass. None are harmed.

I personally don’t use a teapot warmer but I don’t see how it would burn it simply because the flame doesn’t touch the bottom of the teapot. Most candles in teapot warmers are pretty small and only generate heat, not an open flame that’s touching the bottom of the pot (in other words, it’s not like putting it on the stove-top where an open flame is touching the bottom). Also the teapot is already warmed when you put it on the warmer, so it lessens the risk for burning.

Thanks. I think I’ll buy one, now to choose which style.
