XiZiHao Order to Bring in 2018
I’m back at it, again. Everyone here keeps making more tea possible :)
Just gathering interest for a XZH order I’m planning. The format here is unique… I am going to pick it all out; for those who want more structure and organization, this probably isn’t for you right now.
If you’re interested let me know. I cannot make any decisions until I know how many people I have and then figure out dollar amounts from everyone. I’m in no rush!
I already have the 2007 Manzhuan and I’m looking at some possible vertical tastings with their 2013 to 2017 productions; yes they are newer, but I am trying to gauge what I might want to pick up early on too.
This is seperate from what I’m doing on my shop, this is me getting some personal ‘special stash’ material and letting others jump in with me to make what would be only be one cake for myself into possible… a chunk of many!
Interested but want to have an estimate of price before committing…
This depends on how many people I have… say the average cost is $300+ per cake, only 4 people would limit us to 1 or 2 cakes but if we got 10 people interested there’s more purchasing power : )
(I’m only looking at the 400g cakes as well so figure 400g would be 47 grams a person to split if we had 8 people… lots of numbers to consider like dust, breakage, material weight over time, and just all the other stuff like cost and how many are joining in and effective shipping for 1 versus 3 cakes…)
I am making my purchase on Thursday. Looks like we have potentially 5 here and I have a possible 2 on IG.
Already made my selection, but I can add to it if randomly more join.
Picked out the 2013 and 2016 Wushan Mountain for the vertical tasting via age as well as the price point.
Since nothing is set yet… if we hit 10 people then it’s 40g/40g/40g each for a total of 120g at roughly $86
I’ll figure more out, but as of now it’s the 2007 Manzhuan, 2013 Wushan, and 2016 Wushan.
I’d love to do a vertical comparison of the Diangu..I have the 07 and it’s truly one of the most unique and satisfying raws available.
If I found one… We are looking at over $500 for just one cake which would increase the cost quite a bit and I have yet to have 10 people you know?
Well… I was wrong!!! The 2013 Dian Gu Chen CHa (Diangu) is a little less than $400 for the 250g cake and I only have access to the 2017 is $200 for the 250g cake.
That’s about $1.6 per gram and then $.80 a gram…
10 people x 24 grams each = $60 for 50g for the 2017 and 2013 Diangu
question was the 2007 Diangu you’re talking about purchased from my shop? I’m not not to combined this with that… but shoot, I could do a vertical tasting between 2007 2013 and 2017 this way.
AHHHHH breathe Andrew, breathe okay. I shall await responses…
10 people x 24 grams each = $60 for 50g for the 2017 and 2013 Diangu
Have you tried any of these? I’m looking for a premium puerh experience, so if this could be classified as such, sure!
Haha yea I was going to link the price for some off the newer productions which are pretty reasonable. The diangu is definitely one of the most premium options available to the west.
Im ok with getting what you guys think are great teas, so this whatever you guys think is good I’m in.
I got my 07 Diangu from Emmett’s group order back in early 2017…in know way was I expecting you to provide samples of that one for everyone. I’m also open to other options I just noticed XZH has been producing that tea for awhile and greatly enjoy the version I have. No need to stress LP…I’m sure we’re all just grateful you’re putting this together.
I need interest by tonight. I will be sending a message out tomorrow about details. I always get stressed when it comes to someone not liking my selection so I have a pretty good solution to everything I believe… just some details that don’t need to be out there and for all.
