The only way to dispel the effects of alcohol is to stop drinking it and wait until it leaves your system. For driving purposes I suppose this could be eight or more hours. Tea will do nothing for alcohol and I don’t know anybody who thought it did.

This is an asian myth he is trying to dispel. Dark tea is good for dehydration and has caffeine to help with headache.

However, it won’t help with the negative effects on the liver etc..

A source please? Any scientific papers making such claim?

Absolutely. Tea tends to be a relatively strong diuretic, so combined with alcohol, dehydration can be a prominent side effect. Dehydration leads to stronger alcohol effects including that of the typical hangover.

i have never even heard this myth; very interesting.
i also didn’t know that tea acted as a diuretic! I always thought it was a great way to stay hydrated, because in my brain i think of it as like “nice flavoured water”.
I better be smarter about my water intake I guess!

Well, it depends on the caffeine level, really. I think you can drink as much tea as you want though, as your body can’t get ŕid of all that water quickly.

Typically, you’ll be running to the bathroom several times.

I would even substitute cold brewed green tea for water during exercise.

oh that makes sense, in retrospect. thank you for the reply.
