White flower petals?
Hi! I was wondering if anyone would know of some sort of white flower petals or ingredient that I could add to my black tea. Im trying to make my own tea blends that I drink a bit prettier.
thanks!
Most well-known ones will impart a taste. Crysanthemum can come in white, and jasmine petals are not uncommon either (although most times they are added to ‘scent’ the leaves and then removed). Both are added for flavour. Same with chamomile, which have an odd sweetness, and look akin to daisies.
Blue cornflowers are very commonly added as decoration, or as something to soak up the flavouring oils. Cornflowers also come in white, so you could try that. When sunflower petals are dried, they’re not quite as bright—more of a pale off-white.
You can also try cherry tree flower petals, which range from pale pink to white with a dark pink centre. The taste of these is not particularly strong, as far as I know.
Tea flowers themselves are also white, although they are hard to come by. I remember only one site that sold them, by the ounce like tea.
Thanks AJ, ive been looking at cornflower, but wow they are expensive! I will check out cherry tree flower petals, thanks for the suggestions!
