Interview with a Yunnan tea producer, Farmerleaf

I only mention blog posts here when they’re something different than reviews or opinion pieces, like this interview with a Yunnan tea producer, William Osmont of Farmerleaf. It’s not about promoting his own teas, instead background on his introduction to tea (so that part is personal), and on tea culture in Yunnan, about making pu’er and aspects related to different sub-regions, on aging that tea type, about the trend to make tea from a single tree / plant source, and on tea tree age determination. This ran as two parts in TChing (I contributed it), but it’s listed together in my own blog:

I really enjoy the posts farmer-leaf does, they had a write up of tea production on Jingmai that was a great read. From what I have had so far they press good cakes too!

Your articles are excellent – great interview with William. His Youtube videos (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOgkLFmMkJLSEP9-n6hZ08A) are fascinating as well.

Thanks for your work in putting out these articles. Farmer Leaf is an interesting company whose products I look forward to sampling soon!
