Waah that sucks. Just eat tons of citrus and drink tons of water!
Absolutely. I usually drink a lot of water anyway but the past week has exceeded the norm
Right on. Hope you’re feeling better soon!
Very frustrating! I hope you regain your sense of taste and smell quickly!
Oh man, my sympathies :[ Do you have not-so-good shou? You could steep that with ginger. That’s what I do.
OolongOwl has a hardier solution. It might help you get better more quickly so can get to your new loves!

Haha thanks for this. I like her style. I’ve totally been eating ginger and spicy stuff since its all I can feel. Taste isn’t the right word. I feel the tingly spice. I even ate cayenne pepper with honey. Its slowly getting better. I’m gonna try the pu shu trick.
Wow, eating cayenne pepper just like that?? Hahaaa I think my taste buds would die. Hope you like the pu and that it works.
I really love spicy things. And yeah I could barely taste it. Just the tingle.
See, I surround myself by cheaper comfort teas for this reason. I drink them in the morning when I’m too sleepy to pay attention, and when I’m sick and need something flavoured and strong to actually taste it.
Also I have some of Domo’s Elixo.
I am not famliar with Domo Elixo. Looked it up. Sounds great!
Definitely no fun. Make sure to take vitamin c too. I’m pregnant and have been dealing with something kinda like that the past 2 weeks. Get well soon!
Being sick is no fun. I imagine it is 10x worse while pregnant. I send you many healing thoughts.
That sucks but colds tend to go away in time. I understand though because I frequently can’t drink my good teas. My job takes away my time to brew them properly.
:( So sorry! I agree with others that this is when I break out all the mediocre teas. I figure I’m being thrifty by not throwing them out, so I can give myself a mental pat on the back while I snuffle and watch bad TV reruns. Hang in there!
Thank you! I’ve certainly been gulping down mediocrity lately.
Peppermint leaves. Steeped long and strong, hot as you can stand them. My miracle cure for pretty much anything.
I just went through the same thing, and it took two weeks to pass all the way through it. I was writing about Christmas themed blends around that same time some, and something related to that might work. You could try drying orange peels (the outer colored part, shaved off with a peeler and dried in the oven) and make spice blends with that and modest versions of black tea. It wouldn’t waste really good tea, and if you ramp up that orange and spice—with clove and cinnamon as the starting point—it would get through, and might seem pleasant according to an off palate. There is even potential for mixing the idea of herbal remedies but adding a few random-flavored ingredients that supposedly have health benefits might taste awful. All of that is close enough to masala chai; making that might work too.
I like this idea. I have been wanting to get into blending. Why not now?! Thanks!
