Tea swaps

Hello I’ve noticed lots of people do tea swaps or have places that get them to try tea and make reviews on them. How do people begin that?

As far as swaps go that is something two steepster people will arrange together. As far as companies giving out free samples in exchange for reviews you usually need a fairly good history on Steepster before companies start offering you free samples.

Search the discussion forum for threads with names like “stash sales” or “tea swaps” and browse through them for recent-ish posts in which people say that they would like to swap something they have for something else. Then, if you have one of the things they say they want to swap for (and they have something that you’d like), you post a reply saying so. It’s also important to click on their username and “follow” them so that they can PM you about it if they want to take you up on your offer. :)

Hey, Sensiblyscript, have you swapped before? and how was previous experience?

I haven’t done any one-to-one swapping, but I’m relatively new to Steepster and I’m still building my stash (meaning that I’m less likely to have something specific that someone else wants to swap for). I have participated in two traveling tea boxes (which are great!) and a number of stash sales, though. :)

Also after a while you get tea friends that share similar interests, I have friends & we share because locale (UK for me), others because we share similar tastes – you’ll know similar tastes because you start seeing the same suspects pop up in your reviews & you’ll do the same, discussing the same teas.

Hey, i also don’t know the process of swapping teas. But I think it can be flexible.

Totally not related but I used to be a Girl Scout leader. Whenever I see swaps posted here my brain immediately thinks of the pins that the kids make to trade with each other on trips. They’re called SWAPs (Special Whatchmacallits Affectionately Pinned somewhere) :P
