Best value tea room in NYC?

I’ve looked through the discussions here and it seems we haven’t covered this topic for a while. Or perhaps not quite in this way. I’d like to enjoy taking friends out for tea, meaning really good tea and a few nibbles, not a full or foofy Afternoon Tea experience, and not pay through the nose. I do like Radiance in Midtown a lot, but find it’s a wee bit pricy. I’m willing to head out to Flushing or other neighborhoods in NYC, although I can’t speak anything else but English. Any recommendations? Thanks in advance.

Most of the quality tea places don’t really serve food or if they do, it’s only small bites. Te Company in the East Village would be my recommendation but it’s best to make reservations because they sell out of their food quickly. T Shop is good for tastings (but no food).

Te Company makes amazing pineapple cookies. They’re not cheap, but cheaper than Radiance. Also they let you linger, which is nice.

Chatime Station in Rego Park has really good bubble tea, decent regular tea (genmaicha, sencha, oolong, etc.) and yummy snacks. It’s not a tiny teapot and resteeps kind of place though.

Fang’s Gourmet Tea in Queens is really good. They are a small shop not really a full sized tearoom but they do offer sampling as a gongfu tea service with top grade teas for a low price, something like $5 per person the last time I was there. They also sell a reasonable selection of very high grade teas.
