Remember, Remember, the Fifth of November (Philly Tea Fest)
I, being Andrew and not LPT, will be driving to Philadelphia for the coffee/tea festival with my best friend and I was curious who else might be going.
It’s a little to far to interest me but I hope you have fun. I think it’s run by the same people who put on the Coffee and Tea Festival NYC so it should be awesome. They should have some good seminars but you need your ticket ahead of time. You also probably need a ticket to the festival ahead of time if it’s like NY.
Well, now you’ve given me something to think about at least. We were thinking about a trip to Chicago around that time, though, and I doubt the money situation will be great after breezing through Beautiful Taiwan and goodness knows where else on the way.
Are there any other big tea events that happen relatively close?
Plane tickets to Philly are $87 round trip! Driving would cost all of $50 though, but when flights are that cheap it’s hard to pass up
Make’s me wonder how much a plane ticket out of New York would be and if they fly out of Islip MacArthur which is easier to get to than Laguardia or Kennedy.
Not really familiar with traveling in that area, but wouldn’t it be easier to take a train from that close?
Not if there was a flight out of Islip Macarthur. For a train I would have to take the LIRR to the Amtrack and then probably another train to local in Philadelphia. Islip Macarthur Airport is local to Long Island.
@Hoálatha Let me know if you’re actually thinking about it though because we might organize something together then. I’ll be scoping out hotel prices and taxi… ect.
Basically going to plan to walk 100% of the time I’m there because the expo center seems to be near a lot and in a beautiful location with the river and large park right there.
I hope they get more vendors than their current list. The NYC event had five times as many tea vendors at it.
If Big Island Tea from Hawaii is there be sure to pick up a sample of their black tea, really, really good but expensive. They were only selling sample sizes at the NYC show.
