Brand New to the World of Loose Leaf Tea
I’m brand new to the world of loose leaf tea (and steepster) and would love some suggestions of where to start, either suggestions of specific tea or places to buy tea, would be appreciated. I especially love flavored tea and spicy teas. Thanks for any help =)
Also: http://www.denstea.com/index-main_page-index-cPath-377.html – $3 sampler with free shipping, and the $3 is discounted on your 1st order.
www.manteas.com is a co-company of 52teas- DEFINITELY check out their Mayan Chocolate Chai- it’s spicy. Also ditto Den’s Tea.
I recently received a few free samples of Joy’s Teaspoon and found them to be wonderful flavoured teas. Very fruity and delicious!

(Bonus of previously mentioned 52teas.com is free shipping – I like them too :D)
www.culinaryteas.com has a really nice selection of reasonably priced sample-sized flavored teas.
Adagio is pretty good too. They have fantastic samplers that are cheap so you aren’t stuck with a bunch of tea you don’t like and shipping isn’t crazy…. And the two mentioned before are amazing as well.
Aside from their section that allows you do formulate your own blends, I see Adagio as a place where you can get samples at low cost to see what you like then you can search elsewhere for higher quality versions. Adagio offerings I’d suggest: Pu Erh Poe and Pu Erh Dante, toasted sesame and sweet potato pie flavored black, all the flavored whites, all the green rooiboses, and artichoke, ginseng, vanilla, and cocmint greens.
I also agree with the above mentioned 52Teas, Joy’s Teaspoon. Some others to check out would be David’s tea, and also Harney & Sons!!! Oh there are so many more!
i do not know if you have any around you. But at a couple of malls near me, Teavana has stores. I find the people there to be very helpful. I am also fairly new to tea. Also the what like about going there is that you can buy a cup of tea to drink while you are driving around. This is nice because you can try a cup before you take some home.
That is actually how I got my start in loose leaf tea, they have some really yummy stuff and I want more and more and more =P I wasn’t aware that you could buy a cup of tea there, I’ll have to try that next time. I’ve only had the samples offered at the front of the store.
Mmm, David’s Tea was my first loose leaf love – and I still love it. The stores are an experience unto themself.
Being a teahouse owner, I like to recommend trying tea in a venue where you can choose and sample and smell and get questions answered in person. Try the Adagio Tea Map. Enter your zipcode to look for teahouses closest to you.

My Teahouse has a wide variety of Teas. All loose, all the same price & free shipping.
the Tea Cart does not have all the teas, but check out the Tea Menu. I will substitute anything. and we do use PayPal.
