Easter tea!
For this Easter long weekend what will you be steeping? And any recommendations for a good chocolate flavoured tea?
Happy holidays everyone :)
The only thing I dislike about the holidays is the lack of tea. No one else in my family drinks tea. The closest thing to tea at Easter Sunday dinner will be coffee.
Just slap a full gongfu setup next to your place at the table. Displace a family member if need be ;)
Only kidding of course…I guess it’s worth it to be away from tea for a meal to be with family lol.
Happy Easter. I will be drinking whatever I am craving at the time.
This is one of my favorite chocolate teas….

If anyone else wants to try August Uncommon Teas, here is a coupon. I just ordered their chocolate tea yesterday…
I’m exploring builder’s teas. Heavy, malty brews like Scottish Breakfast.
Have you tried any gold/red/black chinese teas – Like Dian Hong or any of the ‘Gold’ Yunnan types?
and how is the exploration going? I cant drink any builders/english breakfast tea any more, ive had my fill
It’s going well though I just started. It’s a sort of Proustian thing as my maternal grandmother raised us from toddlers on these kinds of teas. I moved back home (Philadelphia) last year after living on the West Coast for 4 decades. I have no living family but I am revisiting a lot of things I grew up with and it’s a wonderful journey. My usual first cup is shou, but for now it’s the back to childhood stuff.
there is something to be said for a kick-start from something malty in the morning isnt there – mine is a grandpa styled yunnan gold tips when I want that kind of thing
Definitely! Like music, perfume and incense, I have always loved how tea can take me to a different place. I can’t argue with your yunnan gold. :-D
totally agree, this is why I love oolong, it tastes like forests and nature, literally puts the image into my head
My favorite chocolate tea is David’s Hot Chocolate, but it is seasonal, so I don’t know if it’s still available.
Just checked! In stock! I’ve noticed lately they are keeping a bit more of their seasonal teas.
I really like puerh as a base for chocolate teas. It adds depth. Otherwise, the chocolate flavor seems to be just a thin layer of flavor.
Just picked up a sample of hot chocolate among other dessert teas.. if I really like it I shall be stocking up cus apparently it’s being disco’d :(
I’m dyeing eggs with tea today! (and one herbal tisane)
I drank Duck poop oolong, totally easter material. https://www.instagram.com/p/BDeAod8ut7N/?taken-by=oolongowl
Thyolo OP1 from single origin teas. It went really well with my German chocolate cake.
