What's your first tea of 2016?

Happy New Year everyone! Hope 2016 brings you all health, happiness, and great tea!
Speaking of, what’s the first tea you drank this New Year? :)

I didn’t pick out anything particular for my first tea, I just went about deciding what to drink like I normally would. It ended up being a sipdown of Liquid Proust’s Lionstale Pu’erh though.

Does it make you feel ‘funny’?

I’m going to order some Liu Bao from there soon. What do you recommend?

I really liked both. I will probably order more of the same cuz I got sample sizes. And want to explore more of it.

I had some of YS’s Drunk on Red yesterday. That’s probably my favorite black tea at this point and made for a nice start to the year.

I had Mandala’s Rou Gui oolong.

Also Whispering Pines’ Elder Grove in the evening.

It wasn’t a great health day for me. I had a headache that wouldn’t go away. Today was much better: 2012 Heart of the Old Tree. I’m counting that.

I had three teas yesterday… I’m counting them all as “firsts” – a lovely Dahongpao from White2Tea, Mandala Phatty Cake II, and YQH Tsang Liu aged sheng to finish off the evening. That’s pretty much a perfect day for me when I can drink a roasty oolong, a ripe, and a sheng all in one day :-)

I just had an everyday Darjeeling, but celebrated new year’s eve with a nice Puerh: Tea Urchin’s 2014 Yiwu Beauty. It had more kick than Champagne!

I drank some gaba green from Taiwan Sourcing… but I think it’s an oolong… it says green though

I have a Mi Xiang red tea that looks, brews, and tastes like oolong. It’s rolled into little beads like a Taiwanese oolong, and brews a golden infusion. Cloyingly sweet. Pretty good stuff but I have trouble thinking of it as a red tea!
