Does anyone live in the Maryland, Virginia area and if you do what your favorite tea shop?
I live in Maryland just north of DC. I personally have not found a great tea shop (not to say that none exist). I prefer to buy my teas online. My favorite online retailers are Verdant Tea, 52teas, and Teavivre. I have been to The Spice & Tea Exchange in Georgetown. Their teas are pretty good from the couple I’ve sampled, but their specialty is mainly their spices. I love using them in cooking!
I live in DC, the only place I’ve been to and feel like they have good teas (traditional) is Chi Ching Cha in Georgetown, just don’t do their Puerh. If you prefer flavored teas visit Capitol Teas, Teaism and The Spice & Tea Exchange.
My parents live in Frederick, MD, and there are a couple tea shops there with interesting offerings. I cannot remember the name of the one off the top of my head, but the other is Shab Row tea Emporium, next to the Frederick Coffee Company, which I prefer to the other.
While I don’t live anywhere near there, there is an excellent tea shop I’ve been to in Williamsburg, Virginia called Discover Teas. They sell a variety of high quality teas. I believe their website is www.discoverteas.com. They have a second store in Virginia too.
I’m in northern Virginia.. One local tea shop, but not the best tea in the world. Better off ordering online. I’ve heard good things about Teaism in D.C.
I’m also in the Mid-Atlantic Region. You my want to check out these two recent threads:
