I will start – Mango Maui!
I love that one too. Though I don’t find it so exotic cause I know where I can pick it up whenever hehe
King of Fruits from Lupicia – a Durian flavored oolong!
I have also had a few Starfruit teas, I have one in my collection unopened that is a Luo, Starfruit and Mango black tea blend.
I also had Sakura blossom tea that was just salted blossoms.
Sakura blossom tea is very common in Japan and all of the ones I have seen/had are salted to preserve them. Some people will quickly rinse the salt off, however in my experience the salty taste is still there.
Omg….Oolong Owl…okay I’m no longer going off on the Lime Jello. It’s Durian all the way. (Bows and runs away.)
I have 5g of tea that someone grew and fermented at their house in Russia… waiting to drink it with a friend so I can’t say I have tried it yet, but I will.
duuuuuuude that sounds amazing!!
I am pretty excited!
These are the kind of things that happen when you send out 8432098490384093284039 emails a day to people who grow tea :)
Also, it is advised to be very cautious of course because many schemers are out there.
Hrrrm, most exotic…I think maybe the Darjeeling Jungpana Yellow Tea from What-Cha might be my pick
or maybe the Green Tea from the Azores
I used to think the green tea from Jeju Island that I tried while in South Korea was one of the most exotic, until…. Teavana started to sell it. I still like it! LOL https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UShqvTK3GRs
Teavana is selling it?! And oooh, did you go to the O’Solloc farm too? I remember their yummy tea baked goods.
Probably the Hawaiian green tea I had a few years ago. Oh it was so tasty. Super fruity. Like pineapple and mangoes.
I’d say either Greek/Macedonian mountain tea or buckwheat tea. The former tastes really herbaceous and it’s best to actually boil the leaf in the water instead of letting it steep in already-boiled water.
I wouldn’t really call it exotic, but it was uncommon in my circle. I brewed up some Traditional Yaupon tea grown in southern Florida. It was fantastic and incredibly exhilarating!
I once had matcha at a traditional tea ceremony at a Samurai house on a small island in Japan.
Hmm, I’ve been drinking strange stuff, so it all seems so normal now… I think the strangest thing I have had was either powdered AliShan oolong/Aged black/Arbor Sheng, or a roasted matcha. But then there is the purple black tea from the country of Georgia, or the Douglas Fir pine needle tea….
My question is; what is normal tea?
pine needle tea???? whoazers
