Do you prefer Chinese green tea or Japanese green tea?
Although I shift between the two, Japanese greens seem to have more of a fresh quality to them, as if you were drinking spring, I always picture Fuji Mountain glowing in the moonlight on a cool spring night when I drink this tea, specifically sencha. With Chinese greens, I have tried Gunpowder, Jade Mao Feng, and Young Hyson. Very good, I’m still yet to try DragonWell. Which do you prefer?
I like Both.
I don’t find them to be very similar. The difference between a great dragon well and a great gyokuro is quite noticeable. It really comes down to the quality of the tea itself and not just the origin.
However: I enjoy the high end Japanese greens over Chinese. It’s hard to beat a high quality Japanese tencha, sencha, and gyokuro.
Japanese is my favorite, but I’ll always go for some huangshan maofeng.
Chinese. Fresh Bi Luo Chun or Mao Feng. And If I’m paying for it, I’ll pick Yunnan greens in particular every time, ain’t no one can afford first flush dragon well anymore.
