Views From The Nook

A few months back, I created a tea nook by my bedside. I admit to being excessively lazy in the winter, plus I figured that if I was sick or WFH, or if I was having a quiet Sunday, I could just reach over and make tea!

It’s been a great success, and I thought I would share some pics. Mine consists of a tray, Bonavita bonavoyage tiny kettle, gaiwans, cups, strainer, teapots, a water bottle that I refill when I am in the kitchen, etc. And I keep some tea in the top drawer.

Here’s the Nook at the New Year:

And here’s the nook in Almost Spring!:

Anyone else have a special tea nook or area (lazy bedside or otherwise) that they can share?

As you already know Sarsita, you inspired me to “build” my bedroom tea-nook…

Omg it changed my life!! A MOFO size kettle so I don’t have to get up all the time and a pile of fury friends in the bed with me…that’s what I’m talking about! Now…if I only could come up with a nook pee device, life would be perrrfect #lazyfairy

A nook pee device would be the Best. Thing. Ever.

Sounds like a diaper or catheter might be for you!

Personally I think I’ll stick with the ocasional hike to the bathroom.

Umm… I don’t have one, but now I need one.

I finish uni (for good – eek!) in six weeks-ish, then I think I’ll spend the run up to graduation building tea heaven.

I love looking at all these nooks- so cute! Unfortunately a tea nook beside the bed would never work for me since I’ve got two cats that MUST get fed, groomed, pilled, etc in the morning. They even know when I’m awake and faking sleep. lol I like the ideas above and would like to incorporate something like that when I get my own zen/yoga space. We have some construction happening so that may not be for another year.

anything beside the bed basically is fair game to get knocked over or broken…it is the rule in my house with my cats as well

I hadn’t even thought of them knocking over or breaking stuff but you’re right. That would definitely happen.

What about a cart, like Missy has? Since it has sides, they can’t really knock things out of it easily, and you can put it aside and roll it out when you want tea!

Ubacat said

That would work for the office. I might have to get one of those carts after all.

This would be awesome for me post surgery! Except that I’ll be sitting not even six feet from the kitchen…

If y’all make one, please post pics!!!!

OMara – 6 feet might be too far after surgery. What if you want a different tea every half hour? :p

I’m really worried actually that I won’t be able to drink much tea. I’m having a tonsillectomy.

Oh my! I’m guessing they would want you to avoid hot liquids? There’s always cold brew!

O my gosh I’m stunned, these are lovely! I was gonna post mine but it is ugly by comparison and I’m too ashamed now.

SarsyPie said

Please share! I’d love to see your pics. :)

Oh I couldn’t, I just have a pine wall bedroom, a veneer side table that has lost the finish from me spilling tea on it. Nothing pretty or zen at all.

I think any place that makes bedside tea drinking possible is inherently beautiful.
