What is the best place to buy tea in Canada in terms of quality/price (be it online or in-store)
I’m looking for the place that offers the optimal quality/price ratio. I go to DAVIDs TEA occasionally, but it seems quite pricey and I’m sure there are better options out there. For what it’s worth, I like fruity and exotic blends (mango, pineapple, blueberry; that sort of thing), as well as citrusy blends (orange, lemon, and so forth). Are there some places you could recommend? What are your favorites? I’m indifferent between buying in-store or online. I tried searching for this question on Google and couldn’t find much.
Thank you!
Have you checked out Luxberry? http://www.luxberrytea.com/ I haven’t had their teas, but prices seem good. They are Canadian so you don’t have to worry about the horrible money conversion. They have some neat tea blends.
I buy a lot of my tea from Cornelia Bean. I find their prices very reasonable and the quality of their tea really good. I’m not sure what their shipping costs are like though – they’re local to me, so I shop in store. They do a minimum of 50g. http://www.corneliabean.com
I’ve enjoyed most of the teas I’ve had from Tealux, and have found their quality good. Shipping is $8.50 in Canada or free over $65, and they do 25g quantities. http://tealux.ca
SayTea’s site is really outdated and you have to call or email to order, but they sell a few of my all time favourites and their prices are extremely reasonable http://sayteaonbloor.com/
Tealux is a good one for trying out teas since all their tea is in small quantities. They also offer a good discount for new customers and after that they have a sale every holiday. Probably one coming up for Good Friday. I find their straight teas a bit pricey compared to getting them from Yunnan Sourcing or other sellers in China (but you can order in small quantities to see if you like whereas the ones from China are usually minimum 50g) Their blends are very well priced.
