Thank you all who contributed so many exciting teas to this box!
50g. That leaves 50g of the bing, and the maocha, and their sheng balls, so still plenty of Misty Peak to go around.
Oh, guess I was kind of confused because of rule #4
Ah, I get it. Dr. Jim and I had agreed that help to start the box, I would order the Misty Peak I was getting delivered to him, then pull a big chunk of it when it got to me so that the box wouldn’t be overloaded with one tea. We should have made that clear in the box posts. Sorry for the confusion!
I sent her a PM to take half the beeng since half a been should let all of the rest of us try some; sort of the point of the box.
The Mandala mini tuos are Temple Stairs
Is the Misty Peak sheng ball 2013 or 2014?
I’m drinking it right now.
I got them last year but I’m not sure which year they were made.
I’ll put note under the 2013, since it’s already uploaded.
I shipped the box this morning. I also added one more tea, 12g of Verdant’s Big Leaf Sheng Pu’er 2006 Yang Ji Tian Yuan.
I have the box. Unfortunately, I’ve been pretty sick lately, and I’m still feeling really germy. I really don’t want to send this virus to everyone else because I’m coughing and sneezing everywhere. If it’s okay with everyone, I’m going to give it a few more days before I even open the box. My plan is to send it back on its way on Monday….
No hurry…thank you for the consideration. I’m next on the list and not a young person.
Makes sense to me. The box has been moving really fast so it won’t hurt to take a few extra days. I think the original idea was to take a week or so to turn it around; Monday would beat that.
Thanks, everyone for your patience. :)
Wow this was a fun box. Thanks so much for including me in it, and dealing with my sickness delays.
I added packaging to a few of the teas as their packaging had failed. Fortunately, nothing spilled in the box.
I added two different Jalam teas – Manmai fermented and Bang Pun unfermented. I took 5g samples of 4 teas, and 6.5g sample of another (all that was left.)
The box has been sent on its way.
I got the box and as soon as I get Mz Priss’s address it is ready to go back out.
I replaced the actual box, it had tons of tape on it and the lid came apart trying to get it open. I barely made a dent in choosing my tea, this box is absolutely crammed, there are sooo many teas. I tried to focus on adding high quality teas which I think people should just take all of what you want, or else the box will just get even bigger. It is already hitting the $10 mark to ship. I chose:
Manmai Fermented Jalam (ripe)
2007 Menghai Puerh Ball Shou
2012 Beauty of Moonlight White
2011 Man Tang Ripe YS
2007 Yiwu Zhengshan
2008 Xiaguan FT tuo cha
Norbu Tea
I added:
2005 CNNP 2005 Nannuo YS
2011 Xiaguan Cloud Plum
2005 Naka W2T
1998 Yiwu (Dry) W2T
1980s Ying Ming Hao Tea Classico
1996 CNNP Green in Orange 7532 W2T
1990s Ding Xing Hao Chinese Tea Shop
Madametj has had to drop out of the tea box rotation. I’ve updated the discussion header and will also PM the folks ahead and behind her in the order. The next few people will be MzPriss, Tea Junkie, and Awkward Soul.
I wonder if anyone else could be allowed to participate? Asking this because this box has so much tea, and so do many of us even before getting the box. If people use this as a way to get rid of samples, there may be more adders than takers.
I suspect that I’ll wind up sending it out for another round after it comes back to me. The great advantage of starting a travelling tea box it that it removes some of the clutter, but when it returns, the clutter just seems that much worse. I just get overwhelmed and decide that the only sensible thing is to keep the box in circulation. Also, my big order from China arrived a week after I sent the box out (and nearly 3 months after ordering), so I’ve got more tea that I’d intended for the box. At that point, we’ll ask for sign-ups and let new people join or drop out.
I’d love to jump in for another round. :)
Even though it hasn’t yet gotten to me, I’m sure I would love to go another round too. :)
I was pretty sure we’d have takers. There was also someone who I didn’t accept because he was too new to steepster, but he’s been fairly active, so deserves a chance at the next round.
I loved this box! If it’s alright, I want to join the next round. I wouldn’t mind being towards at the end of the line this time.
A lot of excitement for an event that’s probably 2 months away, but OK, we’ll definitely do another round.
