Glass teapot with a good filter/strainer?

Umm, if I found the right product you’re talking about, I believe the strainers on those are plastic.

I’ve had three similar to that one and I love them. They are all one-serving pots. My biggest is 10 oz to the very top, 8 oz maximum practical use. I use a 100 ml as a 2-oz gong-fu pot.

oh yes, coil filters. I heard they work well. I was wondering tho, do you insert them from the outside or the inside?

Mine came with the filter already fitted, but I imagine if you want to take it out or put it in again you have to do it from inside the pot.

It has both a fine metal insert infuser basket and a coil filter. On mine the coil filter is good or large leaf teas but if you have any thing really fine it comes through just the coil. I don’t use the metal basket very often – I like to watch the leaves unfurl. I have a tea strainer that I just pour the tea through to catch any little bits the coil missed.

The coil filter tends to get stained (I drink lots of black tea). It comes out but takes a bit of dexterity to re-insert. I use a Q-tip to clean the spout, and usually just push the spring aside.

I got the last one in that size and style. I think they sell a slightly larger one that may still be in stock.

has the water circulation for that one been good from ur experience?

There is always a trade off as far as water circulation goes. This one has good circulation but perhaps not as good as you are looking for. You might consider a glass teapot without a strainer. Then get yourself a small strainer to strain the tea afterwards.

Another option is the Piao Teapot. This glass teapot has complete water circulation. The 1000ml version does not actually brew 100ml though. It brews what the upper basket holds, about 400ml or so. I have this and it is great. It is a lot like a Chinese Kamjove teapot but I think better. It is available in several sizes.

You’re right, it says the inner basket is polycarbon. As for the tradeoff, I definitely saw a design in the past where the filter had huge slits in it instead of small ones, I feel like that would work well. That particular item i saw that design on was more of a mug with an infuser than a teapot but either way, for some reason i can’t for the life of me find that item again.
