Is Steepster USA planning another group order like July 2014 to reduce the shipping cost per person?
“TaoTeaLeaf ships orders by Canada Post from Monday to Friday. All orders received by 1:00 p.m. EST will be processed and shipped that same day (depending on stock availability). Our Flat Rate Shipping Program is as follows: Canada:$9.99 CAD to Ontario and Quebec; $13.99 CAD to Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Manitoba, British Columbia, Prince Edward Island, Saskatchewan, Alberta and Newfoundland and Labrador; $18.99 CAD to Nunavut, Yukon and Northwest Territories. United States; $18.99 CAD to all states.
What do I do to get Free Shipping?
Free Shipping is available on any order that is over $35.00 CAD before any applicable taxes. This offer is available to Canadian and United States addresses only.
Free Shipping is not avaiable when sale up to 50% off and more."
We did a joint order in July, and I’m willing to facilitate one again this time. Basically what we did was each person sent me their orders and sent Paypal for the amount to me, I placed all of the orders and once they came in, I reshipped them to each person and then they reimbursed the shipping.
A couple of things: we did not split large quantities (such as me dividing up 250g of something), each person ordered 25 or 50 or whatever and then everyone had their own, unopened original packaging.
I think there were five of us last time, so the shipping from Canada split into ~$3 each. Then reshipping from me in 42420 to elsewhere in the US can vary. I can send a flat rate envelope for $5.05, and that seemed to work fine for the people who chose that. Boxes are a little more expensive and depend on how far the box is going and the weight, but I can ship boxes as well.
I’ll place the order Sunday afternoon. If you can message me your orders by that time, I will collate them and place the big order. I’ll know by then how many people are involved so what the shipping will split to.
I will send you my order later.
I also want to add that first class, especially if in bubble envelope is very cheap. In a box you are not restricted by size like priority flat rate. Small priority box is tiny. Regular box 1st class up to 13 oz is around $3.79 roughly
It all depends how much you order and what tea. When I ordered wuyi oolong take a lot of space and you don’t want to crush them. Box was great in my case in July.
I can’t thank you enough Marzi how smoothly professional it was handled !
I think the most expensive box last time was around $8 (first class), but it weighed almost a pound so we didn’t get the under 13 oz. benefit.
Thanks for offering to facilitate a group order Marzipan!
No problem, it has gone really well the last few times.
I’d like to get in on this too, if it’s not too late!
Anyone ever had that Whitemoon pu’er? There are on two reviews online for that. Each one seemed to love it but the reviews are kind of scarce.
That’s because it’s expensive and no sample sizes.
I wish the pu was in the discount this time.
Sale is for ALL loose tea. They have 5 loose pu. Does that help?
I picked up the shou rice tuo last time and was looking forward to getting more, but I’ll just branch out.
I test added a couple of things to my cart and the tuos DID give 50% off.
Congratulations! You have received 50% off items you purchased in the ‘Tea and Black and Pu-er and Scented & Blend and Organic’ categories!
it did worked for me, i just tried Marzi
Oh, that’s right. It’s not part of the sale anyway. I’ll take a look at the tuos.
Just so pricey. I’d love to be able to sample it.
Which loose teas are you all planning to order?
This is what I got last time, it will probably be the same in blacks and add some puerhs.

ZhengHe GongFu Black Tea – Jin Ping Village

Rice Shou Tuo
- Which are your favorites in each category (black, Pu, etc.)?
- How are their Organic black teas?
im obsessed with Wuyi oolong. i find their selection excellent. its my main reason for placing an order. i do love their black teas too.
Thanks to Scribbles, I’ve sampled 4 of Tao’s black teas:
- ZhengHe GongFu Black Tea – Jin Ping Village was my favorite.
- Ying De was also excellent!
- Keemun Gong Fu Premium: an elegant lighter-bodied Keemun
- Chinese Breakfast Organic was not too impressive despite trying different brewing paramaters.
How consistent are their teas over time? Will the ZhengHe GongFu that’s currently available, taste as good as what I sampled in August? If yes, I’ll order a larger quantity.
I recently resampled everything I got last time. I got 25g of each, don’t believe in 5 g samples. If something goes wrong you have no chance for redemption. I still love them all. Even more than in August.
Has anyone tried any of their other Organic black teas?
Per Steepster (http://steepster.com/teas/tao-tea-leaf?black=on) they’re rated 80 or less. However, the ratings are currently based on a small number of reviews.
When are you planning to put in this group order, I may be interested in two or three teas?
Per Marzipan, “I’ll place the order Sunday afternoon.” ^^
Marzipan: I am going to message you later today with my list. I really like quite a few of their teas. It’s so kind of you for doing this for all of us!
I’m following you now so pm should work. Sorry!
Tao WU,
I’m very interested in purchasing a quantity of your ZhengHe GongFu Black Tea.
http://www.taotealeaf.com/zhenghe-gongfu-black-tea-jin-ping-village/
I would greatly appreciate if you would tell us about the farming methods used to grow this tea.
1. Is it produced using organic methods, but not yet certified?
2. Or, has it been tested for pesticide residue levels, such as the EU Food Safety Commission Pesticide Maximum Residue Limit EUROFINS, and found to meet such standards?
Thank you!
The Zhenghe Gongfu is from a very small village and the tea was grow and produced in a organic methods but not certified, we went there every spring to source this teas and we drink these tea regularly by ourselves.
Thank you and happy holidays to everyone.
Excellent! Thanks! Happy holidays to you & your family.
I have orders from three people so far.
I’ll get mine together by tomorrow afternoon.
i sent you an order. thank you :)
Update on this, so far there are EIGHT of us on the joint order! I will check back at 6:00 pm central time and finalize amounts for people and then place the order. So if you are still interested, please get back to me via PM before then. We have company this afternoon so I probably won’t see any messages before that time.
