Do you mean organic? Arbor teas and Leafspa have nice selections that are organic. For herbal alternatives, check out the 52 teas website- they have lots of honeybush (no caffeine options) that are fun and tasty.
With the exception of mate all of these are safe during pregnancy

Like Lori I’d suggest organic (I also second the Leafspa suggestion). Talk to your doctor about any caffeine intake, but if s/he’s ok w/ a little caffeine, I strongly suggest sticking w/ decaf true teas (which actually have ~5mg caffeine) so you get the health benefits. A decaf chai may be a good thing to keep on hand for morning sickness. Chais, especially green based chais, help settle my stomach. As far as herbals go keep in mind that yerba mate does contain caffeine (not everyone knows that), red and green rooibos has the most antioxidants (green more than red) of any tea or tisane- great for being pregnant during cold and flu season so you don’t have to take meds, your baby will soon be sitting on your bladder so you may want to keep away from herbal or true tea blends containing mints as it’s a diaretic. Even if your dr. ok’s a small amount of caffeine, I suggest picking decaf tea that stands up to multiple steepings- that way you intake less caffeine, save tea, and save $. Oh, and most importantly… CONGRATS!
I just tried Twinings decaf chai (in bagged form yet) and it was really good! I do suggest a longer steeping time though 6min if you like the 1 bag/6oz water ratio and 7 if you like to make an 8oz cup. I tried it clean 1st. W/ milk is next.
…and it’s even better w/ milk! Check out my tasting note. http://steepster.com/Cofftea/posts/52270#likes
I’ve tried some of RoT’s green bush blends and they’re amazing!
yes i have been feeling sick the past few days in the morning. I am betting my dr. would like me to be caffeine free the whole time but … i’m betting 5mgs or less is fine as long as i don’t over do it. I have to be careful of certain herbs i was reading a that even some herbs are not good for pregnant women :S but I’m finding some cool herbal stuff for stretchmarks and herbal things and thanks for the congrats :)
Congrats, to you and yours. I would make a tea suggestion but when I was pregnant I still drank what I wanted except Maté and some herbal teas that are not considered safe during pregnancy, I just limited my intake.
Rooibos and honeybush teas are safe to drink during pregnancy, I’ve heard. But then, neither of them contain any caffeine, so they’re no good if you want a buzz.
But then again getting a caffeine buzz while pregnant isn’t a good idea anyway.
I second this suggestion. Rooibos is traditionally drunk by pregnant women in Africa and they even feed it to babies.
Red raspberry leaf is also very popular as a healthy pregnancy tea. I’ve also been told that mint is good for you.
Small amounts of caffeine is generally considered safe during pregnancy. I was never able to completely give it up, but I found Bigelow’s Orange Spice to be a good substitute. Later on in your pregnancy, consider red raspberry leaf tea, as it tones the uterus in preparation for delivery. :) Good luck1
thanks for all the help and and the ideas I know i was very vague on what i wanted but i didn’t know what i was looking for either. I did a lot of research today on teas and I found a Raspberry leaf it’s not the best tasting but it’s really healthy for me so i will endure, but i will most certainly look into some of the teas you all talked about :)
You could always blend it w/ a decaf true tea or a rooibos or honeybush.
Just found out Celestial Seasonings Decaf Mint Green (which is actually a white/green/peppermint blend) is really good. I suggested a low steeping ~170 degrees for just 1 min…1.5min max and using 6oz water instead of the suggest 8. This way it’s not a “make your mouth tingle, clear your sinuses, wake you up” mint, but the tea base is surprisingly strong w/o being bitter and blends w/ the mint very well.
