This is my go-to herbal tea for when I don’t want to touch caffeine (like late at night). It helps me relax and wind down after a long day.
The valerian root adds a tartness to the tea that is appreciated under the layers of mint, rose, and camomile. There is also a strong lemon flavour present. This is a tea you don’t want to keep steeping forever, unlike other herbals. The valerian can get very tart, if not a bit bitter which can ruin the cup. Something to remain cognizant about, but not to worry.

I actually think it is the hibiscus as well that gets tart. I think this has hibiscus in it? I am a big hibiscus fan (lots of steepsterites are not) but it was only recently that I realized this had it too.

Hibiscus gets tart only when it’s steeped too long (or there is too much in it). This idea that herbals can withstand steeping all day is wrong. Dead wrong.
