112 Tasting Notes
Tastes good.
I noticed that the tea bag is really too small for the amount of tea. After it has been in the water for a couple minutes the tea has expanded to the point that the bag is bulging and water is not able to flow through the tea bag properly. I expect this tea would have even more flavor if the bag was big enough.
This tea is sold in a large box of 100 individually packaged tea bags. The box is sturdy sturdy and attractive and it will be perfect for storing ‘overflow’ tea that won’t fit into my regular tea box.
Preparation
This tea is quite mild. I started with a hot cup and boiling water and after 5 minutes the tea was still light in color and tasted weak.
I was surprised to find the taste reminded me more of T&T’s Organic Oolong tea than a black tea. I actually got thinking that maybe they mixed up the tea and put oolong tea in the bag instead of black tea.
The tea tasted fine but it is not what I was looking for or expecting when I chose a black tea

I made another cup of this tea today. Once again I made it with boiling water steeped for 5 minutes. This time I didn’t get the oolong taste. It was still quite weak though. I would say the strength of the tea would be like Red Rose brand Orange Pekoe tea steeped for only 15 seconds (or maybe even a bit weaker than that).
It did taste good though, just weak/mild. I think I will eventually finish the box of 100 bags but I am not sure if I will repurchase.
Preparation
I was looking forward to a pomegranate flavored white tea but I was disappointed that I could barely taste any pomegranate.
The ingredients include White & Green Tea, Lemongrass, and an unidentified ‘natural flavor’. All I could taste was the White & Green tea and the lemongrass. unfortunately after drinking the tea I still couldn’t identify what the flavor was supposed to taste like.
I rated this tea rather low because of the disappointment factor. However, the taste was actually pretty good. If they name matched the taste and then I wouldn’t have been disappointed and I probably would have given a rating in the 70s.
Preparation
Tastes good but you can only make a small cup of tea unless you want it weak.
I bought a big box of 40 bags on sale but it looks like I will need 2 bags per cup or only drink a 6 to 8 oz serving size so it ended up not being that great of a deal after all.
Flavors: Peppermint
Preparation
This is the first pure white tea that I have tried.
Tastes great! The package recommends steeping at 90 C (193 F) for 3-5 minutes, but I did not follow the directions. I steeped it for 10 minutes at a temperature of 65-70 C (150-160 F).
I did it this way because I heard that steeping white tea for longer at a lower temperature would preserve more of the delicate flavor. I am happy with the results but next time I will try and follow the directions to see which way tastes better.

I steeped another cup based on the directions on the package (85 – 90 C / 185 – 194 F for 5 minutes) and this also tastes good.
Summary:
1st cup (steeped at 65-70 C / 150-160 F for 10 minutes): Absolutely no bitterness at all. Light but complex flavour with a slightly sweet after taste.
2nd cup (Steeped at 85 – 90 C / 185 – 194 F for 5 minutes): Just the slightest bit of bitterness in the after taste. I don’t like bitter tea but the bitterness was so slight that I still enjoyed it. The flavour is a little bit stronger than the 1st cup but the range of flavour is not as broad or as complex.
The verdict:
I really enjoyed both cups of tea but I think I enjoyed the first one that was steeped for longer at the lower temperature a bit better. Next time I will probably split the difference and steep the tea at 80 C (177 F) for 7 minutes. Maybe that way I would get the best of both cups of tea.
