Morning tea in my travel mug on the way to work! I love this one for when I’m in a rush. Especially in the mornings. It is so rich and bold for a bagged tea! Really wakes me up and puts a smile on my face. It’s not quite as good as my beloved Mayan Chocolate Chai from 52teas, but still a nice spicy cup.

This is still my favourite chai. Maybe because it was my first? Who knows. But every time I make myself a cup of this I am surprised at how dark and rich and spicy and warm it is. No other chai has quite compared, as far as I’m concerned. I love how you can taste all of the spices, rather than just cinnamon, and the black pepper gives it a nice tingly bite. I always add a bit of sugar and plenty of milk and it is obviously the most delicious this way, all creamy and comforting.
I also love the tazo chai concentrate that you can get at the grocery store. I give it a whiz in my trusty magic bullet with some vanilla frozen yogurt and milk and it makes the BEST frosty drink. Yum.

drank Zen Iced Green Tea by Tazo

This is so gross. I hate the bottle I bought for iced tea (it sweats, if the opening isn’t a certain way it leaks) and I didn’t feel like cleaning it this morning so I needed tea between an appointment and class.

Bitter, terrible, finding a new bottle on the way home UGH. All I want is something that doesn’t sweat and can hold at least 24oz, and doesn’t cost more than $20. Sadface. This is what happens when you buy a sad bottle, you have to drink sad tea.

eta I am now wondering why I didn’t buy a nalgene bottle in the first place unless Target is just rude and sells them for $9.99 online only.

Daisy Chubb

Find some more of double walled container! Zero sweat all the time, I hate condensation!

CHAroma

I just bought the DAVIDsTEA glass double-walled tumbler with bamboo lid, and it rocks!!! Waaaay better than its predecessor, a Starbucks plastic travel mug that started leaking. And did I mention it comes with an infuser basket? It’s really nice! Looks sleek and classy too…if tea paraphernalia can look classy. ;)

momo

I just saw fab.com has a sale on Takeya stuff and there’s a double wall tumbler as well as a glass bottle in a silicone jacket…same stuff DavidsTea has. I have $18.50 in credit so I’m really tempted despite just picking up a bottle since I’d only have to pay shipping.

momo

I just stuck the stickers back on so I can take it back hahaha whatever works!

drank Wild Sweet Orange by Tazo

Well, I had high hopes for this Tea. I mean, anything that’s WILD and SWEET, an oxymoron if you will, had to be good. I was wrong. I still enjoyed the tisane but it was way to sour and not enough sweet.

It was a beautiful, orange flavored candy color. I could pick up a faint lemongrass as well. Not my favorite Tea, but I have a full box and I think I could choke the rest down. ;D

Sorry, It seems very vague, this is my first review.

I keep this tea on hand for company that doesn’t like tea. :P it’s delicious with cream or milk and sweetener, and always a winner for people that don’t like plain tea. I am not the biggest fan, and I don’t know if it’s this specific blend or the actual rooibus that turns me off because I have no Idea what plain rooibus tastes like. It smells so good that I keep trying it and the result is always the same. It has a weird aftertaste. Again, I don’t know if thats what rooibus is like. So I won’t actually rate this one.

Last night I developed a wet cough – yeah gross, right? It could be symptoms of the horrific allergies I have as a Midwesterner. Or it could be because my husband has been out of town for the last couple days and I haven’t been taking the best care of myself while he’s away. (Staying up late, eating crap because it’s easier, you get the idea.) Thankfully he’s coming home this evening.

My throat is a little scratchy and sore, just enough to be annoying. Times like these I turn to orange juice, however there is none in the house (and I’m too lazy to go to the store). So I reach for this because it’s the closest thing that my lazy butt is going to get to OJ. Sadly, I have a ton of this from my early days as a tea drinker. 3 bags in 8oz of boiling water and iced with sweetener. Its a little better than drinking some disgusting powdered Theraflu-type stuff, but ACK! Must…. choke…. down….

Boiling 8 min or more

It’s suppose to be hot here – like upper 80’s, low 90’s hot. I’m not looking forward to this, especially with any added humidity there might be…

So I’m trying to prepare. I currently have in the fridge a fruity white tea and a vanilla mint green. When it gets hot, I usually crave a sweeter non-black tea (because I start my day with black tea). So I’m trying this cold.

Brewed the usual hot way I use 4 tea bags for 32 ounces of water, brought to a boil and steeped for just over 5 minutes. Let it cool and stick it in the fridge to get friendly with the other iced teas.

I really don’t like the taste of this unsweetened. Don’t get me wrong, it tastes sweet without adding anything extra to it. I believe it to be the licorice root as Aveda’s Comforting Tea also has this in it – both I’m not crazy about. And for a vanilla rooibos, Tazo’s tastes apple-y. Again not a bad thing, but it’s not really what I want out of a vanilla rooibos. My remedy for this: homemade vanilla syrup.

So I’m always up in the air about getting a new tin. I like it, but it has to be doctored – usually with some vanilla syrup. :-/

I’m in Washington state now visiting my friend and since I was packing in a hurry, I forgot to bring any tea. :( There are a few different kinds of tea bags here, though.
But yeah, this one was actually just a regular tea bag, not the full-leaf thing like in the picture. Mehh, it’s not so bad. Bordering on sour sometimes though, which is weird. Not much depth but I didn’t find it too bitter after a 2-3 minute steep.

Tasting this tea while sitting down with a friend before choir. I have to say, it wasn’t as sweet as I expected with the name “Wild Sweet Orange,” but it is the perfect afternoon tea for a warm day like today. It’s light, but still has a distinct flavor that I enjoy. Can’t wait to enjoy it more as it cools.

my husband brought this home for me one night, mainly because he knows i like tins & this tea was in a delightul square tin. he also knows i love tea. it was such a loving, thoughtful gift. the vanilla aroma is the first thing to praise about this tea. makes me feel cozy and at home. i find it tastes best with a bit of milk & sweetener, either a teaspoon of honey or a sugar cube. i have a South African friend who is horrified by the addition of anything to roobios, but i find roobios can really hold flavour. the only thing i dislike about this tea is the licorice taste. it really doesn’t need it, in my opinion, kind of clashes with the rest of the sweet flavours by adding a touch of bitter, medicinal taste. but aside from that, this is a delicious tea. love the wee triangle see-thru bags too. i like to see the twigs & bits in my tea.

Sitting in Starbucks on the New Jersey coast. The only tea I have with me is some Ito En teabags and I wanted something different so I came here. I ordered a small China green tips tea and they gave me this instead, which is saddening but I’ll deal. This stuff is enjoyable, my problem with it is that I really can’t see or taste the green tea in it, it’s all lemongrass and mint. But for now, it’s soothing as I watch the waves crash on to the shoreline. I just wish the staff of Starbucks knew that just because this says green tea, doesn’t mean it’s the same thing. Haha

There was a great temptation to crawl back into bed this morning, but I had bought some lamb and needed to get Shepherd’s Pie made. Once the puppies had finished ravaging my kitchen, I decided to get it going before I could change my mind. I thought this tea from GMATHIS might help me stay on track and not slip away to the soft, soft down comforter and all those pillows…oh, wait, this is called Focus, right?

So I took a sip. Nice! I taste the tea, and there is the chocolate-y orange-y flavor nicely present but not masking the base. I don’t know if I have ever had chicory, so I am not sure if I am picking it up, but I do taste a touch of the mate. I would swear I taste a hint of something Ike cardamom. Is that the chicory?

Thank you, GMathis, for a lovely new tea to start my day with today!

Angrboda

Om nom nom shepherd’s pie! When do we eat?

ashmanra

Wish you could join us! We would finish the pie and have tea and cookies! :)

gmathis

Is mashed potatoes an essential ingredient in shepherd’s pie? This is weird, I know, but I will eat potatoes any way except mashed (I always use “it’s a texture thing” excuse).

ashmanra

Hmmm, I have never heard of shepherd’s pie without mashed potatoes, but I don’t see why you couldn’t do a variation. Why ot top it with the hash brown sort? Or even very thin rounds of potato like in Potatoes Anna?

Angrboda

Yes, shepherd’s pie is layered. You’ve got your meaty saucy bit at the bottom and then mashed potatoes as a pie ‘lid’ with some shredded cheese on and then bake the lot. If you left the mashed potatoes out, you’d only have half the dish. You could make the bottom layer and use it as a meat sauce on regular potatoes instead I suppose. Or better yet, bake it into a real pie shell. :) It just wouldn’t be shepherd’s pie anymore.

gmathis

I vaguely remember my mom doing something similar with canned biscuits on top. (Off to research recipes. My starting-all-over recipe notebook has exactly three in it.)
