I needed something to warm me up at lunch time, so I got a cup of this at the restaurant (it was a choice between this and ‘orange peacock’ I swear to god that’s what the waitress called it!). I didn’t steep it very long and it came out quite pleasently light with an almost floral, citrusy taste.
Not bad at all for a generic earl grey. I suspect the key thing was the fact that I didn’t steep it very long.
Preparation
This makes me laugh. And now I really want to see if there is a tea named “orange peacock” anywhere – or at least one that would have a orange peacock on the label. Because that would probably entertain me for a solid day at least.
You wouldn’t believe how hard it was to keep a straight face when she said it. XD

When I used to drink this I THOUGHT it was good. Since trying real greens I have learned my lesson. This always comes out bitter and grassy no matter how you brew it. If you want to try out green tea do yourself and the tea world a favor and don’t get this one.

I’m a complete beginner regarding tea in general, but would really like to learn.
The different kinds of green tea I’ve tried (including the above one) always come out bitter. I used to think that was the “point” but now … can you telle med how should a good cup of of wellbrewed green tea really taste ?
This post confuses me. If you already love dirt cheap tea, what is the point in raising your standards so that you hate it? Now you not only have to throw out tea that you used to think was good, but you are also stuck paying multiple times the expense for better tea.
