This Thursday, I was sitting in my family/couples therapy class and we were discussing family-trauma and attachment issues…you can imagine it is a rough few hours sitting through that every week. I needed to dissociate a little bit from all of the heavy family-trauma talk and lighten my mood, so I escaped from class to get some hot water and steep a cup of Pink Flamingo tea. Best idea ever.
It stood up perfectly to the boiling hot cafe water and long steep time, as I left the leaves in my Timolino travel mug for all of class. This was exactly what I needed – a taste of spring and a reminder of warm sunshine and happiness. I still can’t believe there is no grapefruit in this tea, and this time, I really noticed the notes of the lemongrass and lemony-ness come through. Kind of like a re-vamped and amazing lemon-tea (which I love and haven’t had since the bagged versions…those kind of seem extinct now).
I’m still waiting to try this as a real glass of iced-tea (and not my makeshift version), but I think I want to wait until the weather gets nicer, as a sort of celebratory drink!
