278 Tasting Notes
Good aroma, good flavor. This was brewed for 5 minutes and served hot without milk or sugar. It tastes more strongly of mango than pomegranate.
I liked it, but it didn’t wow me. This would probably be great as an iced tea and I’ll update if I try it that way.
Preparation
I love jasmine teas, and this one is very enjoyable. It’s $24.95 for 3 oz. and since Mighty Leaf has coupons/sales pretty regularly, it can be picked up for even less.
The unbrewed tea smells lovely. I usually steep this for around 2-3 minutes and the jasmine aroma while brewing is noticeable.
I’ve only tried one other jasmine pearl tea, and this one is better. I enjoyed the flavor, but I think the shorter brew times are best because it starts to get a little bitter at longer steeps.
I’d love to get some samples of this style from different vendors and see if I can pick up on the differences.
Preparation
This is a truly fascinating tea. It’s from Numi’s Savory Tea line and I really wasn’t sure what to make of that. A savory tea?
I received a sample tea bag and was pleasantly surprised. This was steeped for about 3 minutes and was consumed without sugar, cream, etc.
This doesn’t taste like tea, but it’s definitely good! It tastes green, with definite vegetable flavors, along with easily detectable culinary herb flavors. It also has a distinctive buttery flavor, which had a comforting effect. The bottom line: it tastes like a very light, but delicious soup!
I mainly consume loose leaf tea now, but I am likely to buy this for cold nights when I’d like a more substantial tea. If you’d told me a month ago that I’d try and enjoy something like this, I’d have laughed. But life is full of little surprises!
Preparation
If I’m drinking a flavored tea, I like to easily discern the advertised favors. I shouldn’t need to go hunting for the chocolate in a tea called “Chocolate Rocket”. And with this one, there’s no search needed.
Woo! Chocolate! I even pick up some of the raspberry in the tea description.
The smell is amazing, the color of the brewed tea is lovely. This one was steeped for about 5 minutes using water that was just under boiling.
It’s not the best tea in the world, but it’s definitely a sweet treat. Plus, there’s something to be said for truth in advertising.
This would make a great dessert tea. I tried it plain, and also with a little rock sugar. The tea was yummy both ways.
Preparation
I’m a sucker for pretty things, and this tea is really gorgeous. It contains gold sugar beads and little silver sugar crystals.
Before, during, and after steeping, the smell is awesome. It’s spicy and sweet smelling. I infuse this for around 5 minutes.
The taste is very good, and the spiciness apparent in the aroma comes through nicely. I think this would be excellent as an iced tea, but I have not tried that yet. Since the tea itself contains sugar crystals, it has plenty of sweetness. I wouldn’t suggest adding milk because of the effect described below.
Here’s the best part about this tea: as it steeps, the gold and silver sugar dissolves, and as you look at the tea, you can see tiny little sparkles. Like the title says – it’s glittery! This is probably best served in a dark cup to really get the full effect.
It would be a lovely tea for the holidays, for guests, or when you’re just feeling like you need something beautiful to drink! This one just makes me happy. :)
Preparation
Yum! This tea smells amazing, is very pretty, and tastes great!
It contains tiny fennel seed candies, which are fun and add sweetness. I’d eat the candies alone! The pink peppercorns can also clearly be smelled and tasted.
I steeped this for 5 min using boiling water. I didn’t add sugar or milk, but may try that next time. I really liked this as-is. I didn’t taste any bitterness.
Preparation
Excellent herbal tea! It smells awesome before steeping. Kind of fruity, but I don’t pick out one particular berry scent. This was brewed for 5 minutes and turns a pretty red color.
It’s lightly sweet and pleasant. The fruity taste is great, and doesn’t need any sweetener.
I made this in the evening when friends were visiting because we wanted something without caffeine. Everyone loved it and kept going back for more. They made me promise to order some the next time I get tea from DAVIDs. This was a hit!!!
Preparation
This could be a new fave! The unbrewed tea aroma is amazeballs. Stepped for 5 min with boiling water, there was no bitterness here.
The cherry flavor is pleasantly noticeable, without being overpowering. The base black tea they use seems like the perfect showcase for the cherry flavor. I wish I had some of this tea at work, because I would be making a second cup!
Did I mention no bitterness? Love this. I’ll be trying this as a cold brew this evening!
Edit: The cold brew was excellent. I used room temp filtered water and my libre tea glass. Refrigerated overnight, and consumed the next day. Love this. The cherry is more subtle, but still great. I’ll definitely be buying more of this tea.
