This is an interesting tea – it brews up to a wheat-golden liquid that smells remarkably like Hubbard’s Shoe Grease…I wasn’t expecting it to have that bacon/pine tar scent that reminds me of nothing more than bootblacking.

It’s hard to get past that to actually assess the flavour of the tea, but there are definitely fishy, leather-like notes that are all kinds of strange. I’m not sure I enjoy the experience of drinking this cup, but that might just be an aversion to puerhs, so take my rating with a grain of salt.

This is an interesting tea, but it doesn’t live up to the strawberries-and-ice-cream that I was hoping to have in each cup…it comes across much more chocolate than expected and overall sits a bit heavy on the palate.

I’d enjoy it more if it wasn’t so sweet, but overall it was a tolerable cup. I’m not in a rush to drink it again or anything, but…it wasn’t awful.

I wanted to love this tea – I mean, EGs are my favourite tea ever – but the flavouring was so muted and the black base so blah that it really wasn’t a fun cup at all. I made it through a couple mouthfuls before dumping the whole thing.

So I suppose if you want to drink an EG without actually tasting any bergamot…well, then this is probably the tea for you. If not, then move along – there are far better EGs out there.

This is a damn fine white tea…it brews up to a surprisingly rich golden brown brew that sits heavy and comforting in the mouth on each sip. It lacks a lot of the bitter notes I’ve experienced in other whites – which speaks more to my brewing than the blends, I’m afraid – and is all kinds of enjoyable to sit and drink.

It has a lot of nutty, bark-y notes that remind me of fall leaves and the way that autumn smells…although it’s not a flavoured white it has a lot of complexity that keeps me coming back for more. I’ll definitely be buying this one in the future.

My first Teavana tea of the day that wasn’t a disappointment…this one was a decidedly mellow, reasonably balanced black that lacks the salty notes I’ve had issues with in others. It lingers in the mouth, leaving behind an almost honeyed aftertaste and a soft sensation that makes it a decidedly pleasant cup to have on hand while watching tv or working online.

I’m still not likely to run out and buy this one – because it’s still Teavana, y’know – but it won’t be a problem for me to drink what’s left in the bag.

I’m really not sure about this tea…it’s definitely spiced – tastes heavy on cinnamon and possibly clove – and I saw the apple bits go into the infuser, but I’m not getting the apple cider that I think they were going for.

Final verdict on this one is that it’s just okay. Like many, many other Teavana blends…I’ve had better elsewhere. I’ll likely not even drink what’s left in my cup – much less the rest of the bag – so it’ll be going into my swap drawer.

Much like the other Teavana blends I’ve tried this one just fell a little…flat. Despite overleafing by 1/2 tsp it still came across as a little thin and weak. The flavours are definitely as expected – fruity peach and a little over-ripe – but there’s a back taste on the end of each mouthful that leaves me feeling a little astringent.

So it’s okay, but not something I’d rush out to buy, since there are others that are better – Ginger Peach by Teajo springs to mind – though I’m not going to complain if I wind up drinking all of what’s currently in my cabinet.

I wanted to like this tea…I really did. The pastry notes, however, fall decidedly flat and overall it was a slightly underwhelming cup.

It might be worth trying again, but I’m not sure I’d be rushing to purchase it anytime soon.
