drank Long Life Oolong by DAVIDsTEA
525 tasting notes

I stopped by David’s Tea today to pick up some stuff for a friend who lives overseas. I also used this opportunity as an excuse to pick up some samples of stuff I’ve been wanting to try. They finally got those teas I wanted back in stock! Yaaaay! And since Steepster has been acting better lately, you’ll likely be seeing my thoughts on those teas soon!

After chatting with my tea helper and sniffing teas, I got a bit thirsty. So I ordered this iced to go. It’s only ok. While the icy cold drink was very refreshing on a hot moist day, the flavor was only so so. The peach was too candy-like for my taste and the oolong was a bit too grassy and metallic. It wasn’t bad, but it didn’t taste like high quality oolong either. And there’s supposed to be some almond in here? Hmm…didn’t really notice.

I don’t regret this tea. I’m happy i tried it, but I have better things waiting for me.

Also, if I lived or worked closer to David’s Tea, I’d be all over their iced tea promo! $1 iced teas all summer long if you bring in their own special travel cup. The cup is $9ish. Tempting…veeery tempting….

Edit: looking at my receipt, I suddenly realized that I got this iced tea for free! That’s so awesome! What’s the trigger for a free tea to go? Thank you so much, tea person!

We got the cup last year – and are very glad the promo is on again this year! If you have room for another travel mug in your cupboard, it’s worth it. It’s actually shockingly good at keeping the tea cold, ice will stay in it for a couple hours without fully melting.

Ack! Don’t tempt me! I simply don’t live or work close enough for the cup to be worth the investment. :( DT should just open up more stores. ;)

True that. : ) I like that they juds came out with a leak-prook one for kids. Marketing ploy, yes, but adorable!

I came from a tea drinking family, but I never appreciated the different qualities and varieties of tea until older. All that time wasted! But I guess I needed to be mature enough to appreciate the tea experience. :)

My favorite teas are green oolongs and white tea. I also love greens, especially gyokuro. I have a huge appreciation for rooibos and honeybush as they are often that only thing I can drink in the evening. I am a relatively new convert to black teas. This is unfortunate for my wallet but extremely wonderful for my palate. :)

In any case, I have a love for both flavored and unflavored teas. They are different experiences for sure, but both enjoyable. I find that it often depends on my mood.

I am on a quest to find a tea that will win my husband over. I think I’m making some headway…
