I really was looking forward to this tea. My first experience with Silver Needle was with Grace Tea Company. I absolutely loved their tea, so I wanted to try this one. This wasn’t anything like it! It’s just okay. It’s didn’t have the oomph that I had from the other Silver Needle. It also loses points for needing to add a lot of tea leaves to produce a flavorful cup. It resteeps 3 times.
I wouldn’t recommend this tea, it was a let down for me. I think I’ll just go back to Grace Tea Company, their Silver Needle will be hard to beat!

“A lot” is relative… are you saying “a lot” in terms of volume or weight? I use a standard 3g/8oz for my whites and because they are so light in weight, yes. They do take “a lot” of leaf"… most whites take over a tablespoon because the shape does not allow them to fit into a measuring spoon. I’m not sure it’s fair to down grade it just for being a light weight tea. Or do you mean that it specifically takes more tea to get he same flavor vs. the GTC needle? Then that I could see. That’s a shame you didn’t like this. I have yet to find a needle I didn’t like,.
Compared to GTC, I needed to use 3x the leaves to get the same strength from Adagio. I prefer teas where I don’t have to use as much leaves, just b/c I am kind of a cheapskate. I never scale it, I use the same teaspoon for everything. Moneywise and tastewise, GTC’s Silver Needle just was better to me.
