29 Tasting Notes
I don’t have but just a couple of black teas. This came in the 2014 holiday collection in a 1 oz sample. I really liked this one. I had two cups. First one I tasted I thought it needed a little sugar to bring out the flavors. Added rock sugar. I’m probably the only woman who doesn’t care for chocolate. I thought it had a smooth transition into each of the flavors. It seemed well rounded. A hint of sweetness not overly chocolate or too candy sweet. Second cup I added milk and I liked this equally as well. I think it could certainly be drank either way. I also think that this would help a sugar craving. I could certainly see myself purchasing this one for an occasional sweet tooth fix!
Flavors: Cocoa, White Chocolate
I made this per the blenders directions. It’s very faint mint. I’m enjoying the green tea portion but would prefer a stronger mint. How much can you really say about a green tea mint. I said that correctly- because it’s not mint green tea. Not a strong enough flavor to the the word mint first.
Flavors: Green, Mint
This came in the Teavana holiday collection with cute little tins! I taste the rooibos and something else that I couldn’t put my finger on. Not really coconut or ginger. Maybe it was the combo of the two. I had to come look at the packaging to see what was in it. Apple! Yep I taste the apple on the back side of this. Has a cherry taste to me but no cherries in it. First cup I tried it with honey. Second cup with rock sugar. I did like this tea. But I won’t search it out to replace it.
Flavors: Apple, Cherry
The package on this one says 212 degrees for 3-5 minutes. But my Breville has 195 for oolong. I first tried this per the Breville. 195 and steeped for 5 minutes. Very faint peach flavor. I added the rock sugar and it really brought the flavor out more. Still faith peach. I then did another pot per Adagios instructions. 212 again for 5 minutes. Much better! I added the rock sugar again. And then I liked this tea. It didn’t rock my world but if I had this in my cupboard I would drink it. I don’t think I would go out of my way to purchase it again. I did however learn a lesson- I will trust the blenders directions.
Flavors: Peach
I thought when you use the word spice it meant it would be spiced up with cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom. Something like that. Nope. There was NO spice. Very disappointed. This was my first tea to try from Adagio. Disappointing. It was very sweet. And even had a sweet smell when dry. I’ll be trading this tea. This is the third or fourth pumpkin spice we have tried and I keep going back to Teavanas version. It’s not perfect but better than this.
Flavors: Sweet
Me likey! I received this in this years Christmas box from teavana. This is the first one I’ve tried out of this box. Wonderful aroma. The taste is warm and has a heavier mouthfeel. It’s creamy, nutty, cinnamon. This only came in a 1 oz and this is one I can see myself purchasing again.
Flavors: Cinnamon, Creamy, Nutty
Really I guess I can’t say it’s added to my cupboard. I sipped it down quickly! I received this from my first tea sparrow monthly subscription. It smells wonderful!! Light hints of coconut At first sip I taste the oolong then at the back of my tongue the light coconut hits. I don’t know that I’d go out of my way and pay extra shipping to purchase this one but if the blender had several I liked I’d certainly add this to the cart. I just received this today and sad to see it gone already. No artificial aftertaste which I get with some blenders. The was a “clean” tasting tea and I’d use the word smooth to describe it too!
Licorice is kind of an obnoxious ingredient, isn’t it? Pushy. Takes over.
and tastes nasty, too. BLAH.
So when you get my package, you DON’T want to open the Witches Brew Chai – just give it away.
The funny thing is that I have had teas with licorice that are (to me) perfectly acceptable…it’s just a proportion thing, I guess.
Marzipan- oh no. And that just has a cool name! I’ll smell it and see. Apparently there was licorice in the tea I had this morning but I didn’t taste it like the over powering licorice in the autumn blend.
Gmathis- apparently the tea I had this morning had it and I would rate it in my top 5 faves. So I think your right- in portions!
