“I invoke the *Principle of 45/15” Ms Theresa yelled at the top of her lungs as we were finishing up with breakfast.
“So what the hell does THAT mean”, you ask.
The Principle of 45/15 means that we’re actually working today: 45 min of actual work, 15 minute break. Then another 45/15, etc.
So far all the house plants are watered, & one of them was ‘groomed’ a little. The kitchen is clean, the sunroom & kitchen are swept & mopped. The blankets from my bed are being washed.
We’ve been listening to Bach all the while, as I find his music to be energizing, & drinking this wonderful tea during my breaks. little terri got a little over-exuberant, as she often does, & put a lot of leaf in our teeny tiny 4 oz teapot, so even with very short steepings this has been a potent brew!

little terri is also trying an experiment today: she filled the 1 Qt crockpot with vanilla almond milk & added Chai. We’ll check it during out next break to see if it’s ready. We’re thinking a long steep in the crock on low might turn out to be an awesome thing.
Hopefully it won’t be an epic fail….

I quite like this principle of 45/15. Perhaps I might follow suit :P.

I came up with it years ago, & when I ‘invoke’ it, I get a lot done. It also helps me to get started actually doing something on a day like today, where it would be easy to just goof off :)
Something about setting a timer helps me to stay on task. Even one hour of 45/15 can result in me getting some things done!

My sister, Ms Whatsit, & I have been known to invoke 45/15 together, & then spend the 15 on the phone gabbing. I should give her a call this afternoon, as one of my ‘rewards’.

I love the 45/15. When I had leg surgery a few years ago, my doctor made me walk for to minutes every hour. I’ve been doing that for weight loss besides my 3 miles with my friend. It seems to be paying off since I lost 4 1/4 pounds in the last 2 weeks. Maybe… 30/20/10? 30 min. cleaning// 20 min. break/ 10 min. walking. ??? maybe overly ambitious? But would give me 20 min. tea time with a good book.

Carol, you & I must be birds of a feather, lol. I’ve been known to take a 5 min walk every hour, in an effort to keep my metabolism up. It usually involves going up & down the stairs, in a variety of patterns: 1st to 2nd floor, down to 1st, to 3rd, down to basement, to 2nd, to basement to 3rd, then a cool down min of walking in circles on the 1st floor. In alternate hours, turn on music & dance like there’s no tomorrow!

I started doing 45/15 because that’s how I work at gigs!

I’m so excited to have found this community! I’m a self-employed Harpist (acoustic & electric – Originals, Classical, Rock, Jazz, etc) & Singer/Songwriter. My days & nights revolve around teaching at home, playing gigs, gardening,& fixing awesome food to eat. My schedule is different everyday, but I just go with the flow, & I sip a lot of tea!

My love of Tea began with Herbals back in the 70’s. One of my favorites was a licorice blend from House of Hezekiah, an old tea shop in Kansas City. There was also a tea with mint, rose petals, chamomile, etc called Nuclear Casual Tea.
In the 80’s I gave up caffeine, chocolate, alcohol, (& a few illicit substances…), and brewed medicinal blends & tinctures to support 4 pregnancies (all children born at home). In the 90’s my love affair with green teas began when I discovered ‘The Republic of Tea’. Their beautiful teas & packaging inspired my original song, “TeaMind”, from my CD “Zen Breakfast”. If you’d like to hear the song for free, drop by my website.

In general, I drink my teas straight, but occasionally I add a pinch of Stevia & maybe some coconut or almond milk (I’m allergic to dairy, gluten, & various other things & avoid most sweets.)

I’ve explored a variety of teas:
Whites tend to be a little bland…sorry
Oolongs – wonderfully sensual
Roobios – I’m not a fan in general
Puehr – a fairly new direction for me
I’m not a huge fan of flavored teas, but I do make exceptions, & I’ll try just about anything once.

And Black Tea, Oh how I love thee!!
I am on a quest for the most wonderful breakfast cup! I will find you, my Love!
