drank Laoshan Black by Verdant Tea
3294 tasting notes

I’ve been drinking tea for a long time, & I’ve always had a tea cupboard. The teas I collected have changed & increased over the years, but I have to confess that this is the first tea I ever hoarded! From my very first sip, I knew without a doubt that I never want to run out of this one. I know that absence makes the heart grow fonder. That’s one of the reasons I don’t drink the same tea every day. But if I can help it, I’ll always have this sitting I my cupboard, & in my backup stash (along with a few others that I obsess about), & in the backup to the backup stash. So now you know.
If ever a tea famine hits us (god forbid), you’ll find me in my bedroom on the third floor, guarding my tea stash like it’s my life, electric kettle full of hot water, cup in hand, sipping & muttering, “my precious…”

«…If ever a tea famine hits us…» ok, now i’m freaked out! You’ve got me thinking, there’s a small bunker in the basement (no I’m not a paranoid freak, it came with the house) it’s a REALLY good reason to order more Laoshan Black to store in my tea bunker, cause you know…a tea famine is pretty serious…just saying.

Dexter

In case of impending doom, I vote we all meet at TheTeaFairy’s house and share her tea bunker. ;))

VariaTEA

Haha. Dexter, the only fair thing to do is to bring our tea stashes along as payment into the bunker but something tells me that all of steepster and our tea stashes would certainly not fit into one bunker.

TheTeaFairy

Yay, it’d be the biggest tea party ever!
And hey, not that I don’t have enough tea for all of you, but I can even offer free rent space for your own stash :-)

VariaTEA

Haha. That would certainly be a HUGE tea party. We could probably live on everyone’s collective tea stashes for years.

looseTman

Sounds like a plan! Sounds like an excellent plan!!

Terri HarpLady

I’ll be here all alone in St. Louis. If you guys run out of tea, I’ll be here, holding down the fort :)

Dag Wedin

Hmm spring or autumn harvest? Any preference?

Terri HarpLady

You know, I made the mistake of not labeling them, so I have both…

Dag Wedin

:) Perhaps i will try some of both :)

Bio

I’m so excited to have found this community! I’m a self-employed Harpist (acoustic & electric – Originals, Classical, Rock, Jazz, etc) & Singer/Songwriter. My days & nights revolve around teaching at home, playing gigs, gardening,& fixing awesome food to eat. My schedule is different everyday, but I just go with the flow, & I sip a lot of tea!

My love of Tea began with Herbals back in the 70’s. One of my favorites was a licorice blend from House of Hezekiah, an old tea shop in Kansas City. There was also a tea with mint, rose petals, chamomile, etc called Nuclear Casual Tea.
In the 80’s I gave up caffeine, chocolate, alcohol, (& a few illicit substances…), and brewed medicinal blends & tinctures to support 4 pregnancies (all children born at home). In the 90’s my love affair with green teas began when I discovered ‘The Republic of Tea’. Their beautiful teas & packaging inspired my original song, “TeaMind”, from my CD “Zen Breakfast”. If you’d like to hear the song for free, drop by my website.

In general, I drink my teas straight, but occasionally I add a pinch of Stevia & maybe some coconut or almond milk (I’m allergic to dairy, gluten, & various other things & avoid most sweets.)

I’ve explored a variety of teas:
Whites tend to be a little bland…sorry
Oolongs – wonderfully sensual
Roobios – I’m not a fan in general
Puehr – a fairly new direction for me
I’m not a huge fan of flavored teas, but I do make exceptions, & I’ll try just about anything once.

And Black Tea, Oh how I love thee!!
I am on a quest for the most wonderful breakfast cup! I will find you, my Love!
