This particular organic green tea is a light steamed asamushi sencha hailing from the famous mountainous area of Kirishima in Kagoshima Prefecture and is made from a Zairai (native) varietal. We were originally going to offer this as a straight forward loose leaf organic sencha, but then the grower sent us the same organic sencha with a lustrous coating of organic sencha powder. We particular enjoyed this new jazzed up version, so we just had to switch to offering this one instead.
The grower’s idea behind coating this organic sencha with organic sencha powder is only for positive reasons. It makes for a more interesting medley of flavors and it heightens this already healthy first harvest organic sencha into an even healthier beverage. It’s the perfect green tea to enjoy either hot or cold any time of year, but it’s especially nice cold in the summer.
Which ever way you decide to prepare this organic sencha, it always brews up into a tantalizing medley of sweet green tea flavors, and makes for one very healthy cup of organic green tea!
