“Love this tea. The fragrance is so nice when preparing. Taste good. Easy to dissolve. Well, it’s the most expensive matcha I bought and I’m yet to taste other better one so I can’t rate it 100%.” Read full tasting note
Organic Shizuoka matcha appropriately named “Sakuraka” due to its fine resemblance in aroma to the leaf of the Japanese cherry tree (Sakura). If you’ve ever had the Japanese confectionery “Sakura Mochi” (a pink rice cake wrapped by a cherry tree leaf), you’ll recognize the resemblence immediately.
A rare systematic numbered breed “Shizu-7132” is the cultivar used to produce this organic matcha. The natural composition of this breed is responsible for the unusual yet very desirable cherry tree leaf characteristic which is best discovered in the aroma when preparing the matcha and, very commonly missed, the retronasal aroma when the matcha passes through the throat. Sakuraka is a unique organic matcha, and one that offers a very comforting and relaxing experience.
