This Dan Cong is crafted from 60 to 120 year Dan Cong trees growing in the middle-high elevation (1150 meters) of the Wu Dong mountains. The family harvests just 8 kilograms per season of this lovely tea from a small cluster of older trees. The is processed entirely by hand into a kind of greenish “mao cha”, then roasted carefully in clay jars, stored for a week and then roasted 2 more time, each time with a rest time.
