From white2tea

Pressed in 2021 using 2021 material, this production of our classic Yunnan black tea has been rested around 6 months before release.

Made from large leaf varietal material, the tea is sun dried with no machine roasting. The tea is smooth, with a very thick body, and a soft natural fragrance. A crowd favorite across all types of tea drinkers.

Drink now or age a few years before drinking.

Made this gongfu style – half a coin (about 3.5 g) to 50-60 mL of water. Rinsed for about 45 seconds to let the cake decompress and open up, steamed for ~30 sec. First steep for about 10 seconds, added 5-10 seconds for each steep. Starts off woodsy, then by the second/third steep, the wood pulls back and the stonefruit comes forward. Steeping too long towards the end results in a slight metallic taste, but nothing worth dumping imo.

Made a Western mug using half of the coin that was included as a freebie in my last order!! Though there are other black teas from W2T that have made stronger impressions on me since this yearly pressing was first introduced, I feel Natural Redhead has always remained pretty consistent year over year! It’s such a reliable tea, with comforting notes of malt and a mix of redfruit and stonefruit notes that, generally speaking, only seem to be more prominent with age. I will honestly never turn down a good Natty Red tea session!
