Description

100% organic loose gourmet Hojicha tea. Exceptionally high umami content, with rich pleasant, roasty aroma.

Hojicha is a highly flavorful roasted green tea, extremely popular in Japan and around the world. Goes well with almost any meal.

Very low in caffeine. Hojicha is a popular tea to serve with meals or before going to sleep and preferred for children and the elderly.

Made from stem of first-pick sencha leaves. Grown, harvested and processed by traditional farmers in lush green highlands of Kyushu island in Southern Japan.

Contains no additives or preservatives.

This tea is certified as organic by the government of Japan. As of April 1, 2001, all plant-based organic products produced in Japan must be compliant with Japan’s Agricultural Standards (JAS), as established by the Japanese Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry & Fisheries. The compliance process includes a rigorous application process as well as regular on-site inspections. Once compliant, such products are authorized to be affixed with the official “JAS” seal to allow consumers to easily recognize the product as organic.
