September 18, 2011 | Author UTOPIATEA
Description
Sweet, grape-like litchi berries combined with red raspberries, and fruity Keemun (“Chinese famous black tea”) produce a brisk and sweet cup that is thoroughly satisfying. Black tea contains a large amount of antioxidant compounds called polyphenols that aid in fighting harmful diseases while protecting the body. Black tea is also known to strengthen the immune system, lower cholesterol, and protect teeth and bones. Small amounts of calcium, manganese, and potassium have also been found in black tea. This is one to enjoy hot or over ice!

Brewing Instructions
Water quality is essential when preparing the perfect cup of tea. Use bottled or filtered water for best results.
Pour hot/boiled water (210 F) in your teacup or teapot and let it sit for 2 minutes then pour it out. The warming of the teacup or teapot will maintain the temperature creating the best tasting tea.
Use one teaspoon of loose tea per cup of water or per 8 ounces.
Pour boiled water over tea leaves and keep your teapot covered to maintain the heat. Infuse for 3-5 minutes. Over infusing will create a strong bitter taste.
Add sugar according to taste.
Enjoy your tea one sip at a time!
Iced Tea Instructions
Single Serving
A stronger brew of iced tea is required due to the melting of the ice, therefore we suggest you double the amount of loose tea that you would typically use for hot tea, per cup. (i.e. if you use one teaspoon of loose tea for hot tea, use two teaspoons of loose tea for iced tea)
Brew tea as directed. If you would prefer your iced tea to be sweetened, add rock sugar (for best results) while the tea is steeping, opposed to adding it at the end. This will enhance the taste of the iced tea and the sugar will easily dissolve in the hot water.
After the hot tea is brewed, immediately pour it into a glass or cup filled completely with ice. The instant cooling will keep the scent and flavor of the tea intact.
Add cinnamon sticks as desired. Enjoy!
Large Serving
Bring one quart of water to a rolling boil.
Remove the water from the heat and add 8-10 teaspoons of loose tea per quart (using a tea pot w/filter or tea bags will work just the same).
Let this steep for 4-5 minutes or to your desired strength, then remove loose tea. If you would prefer your iced tea to be sweetened, add rock sugar (for best results) while the tea is steeping, opposed to adding it at the end. This will enhance the taste of the iced tea and the sugar will easily dissolve in the hot water.
If you would like to serve immediately, pour over a glass or cup filled completely with ice. The instant cooling will keep the scent and flavor of the tea intact.
If not, add an additional quart of cold water and let chill in the refrigerator (minimum 2 hrs).
Add cinnamon sticks as desired. Enjoy!
