“This is another sample from Brett @ Tribute Tea, which BTW is in Chicago, not to be confused with another company of the same name in Seattle http://tributeteacompany.com This is a lovely sweet cup...” Read full tasting note

Description

Iron Buddha is one of the most famous oolongs in the world. Named after the Buddhist Goddess of Mercy, Guanyin, Iron Buddha commands respect with its full-body flavor and long-lasting astringent aftertaste. During the Qing Dynasty, Tie Guan Yin was designated an Imperial Tribute Tea.

Ours is a 2012, spring-picked, lightly-oxidized, hand-rolled leaf. With strong floral aromas of melted butter on sweet corn, expect flavors of seaweed, roasted corn, and orchid, with a mild, vegetal bitterness, similar to green kale. Its texture is slightly creamy with an impressively long-lasting aftertaste…

Notes: seaweed, sweet corn, orchid

Infusion: 190ºF / 88ºC for 1-2 minutes

Origin: Anxi, southern Fujian Province, China
