Description

Summer honeydew melon, spiced honey, vanilla, sweet grass, nutmeg.

Deeply present floral aroma emerges just after steeping this gem of a Tie Guan Yin. This is the most honey-taste (mi xiang) Tie Guan Yin I’ve every come across, as most are more assertive, and edgy or blunt. This tea is playful and energetic, yet contained and focused in its floral aromatic direction. A real treasure.

This Tie Guan Yin varietal was originally brought from Fujian, China to Taiwan, where it was able to adapt to the more rocky, steep terrain. The northern Muzha preparation techniques that involve deeper roasting and longer oxidation are used to make this oolong, though the leaves come the more desirable Ali Shan mountain range in central Taiwan.

Brew this high mountain oolong with 195 degree water for 1 minute. Add a minute to the brewing time with each additional infusion.
