Minami-Sayaka is a green tea variety developed in Miyazaki. It is used mainly in Gokase and Takachiho to make kama-iri cha. However, this cultivar, with ancestors that include tea trees from India but also the Caucasus, makes excellent black teas.
This second-flush Minami-Sayaka has a very strong aromatic personality thanks to a creamy fragrance with candied fruit, apricot and peach aromas.
This creamy feeling also appears in the mouth, almost recalling milk tea, but with a very pleasant tannic undertone. The rich fruity aromas are especially present in the after-taste. Ideally, this robust, mouth-watering, second flush black tea should be tasted in comparison with a first flush tea made from the same variety.
