Description

Mandal Gaon is a small family farm in the Himalayan mountain slopes near the border with Bhutan. The teas they produce there are organic in every way except by certification as they cannot yet afford the expensive certifying process. They also cannot afford to be registered with the Tea Board of India which is why technically this tea cannot be called a “Darjeeling.” Instead it is called Ramro Cha, which means essentially that something is beautiful or good.

Harvested in early April of 2022, this tea has a rustic charm with a woodsy, slight smokey edge and lots of buttery fruit. It is unlike any other first flush Darjeelings we carry as it has much less emphasis on high florals and just ripe fruits and instead has more body and more developed fruit qualities.
