The dry leaf of this smells exactly like fruit gushers, those little fruity sugary chewy gummy snacks that my mom refused to buy for me as a kid because they weren’t healthy.

I decided to cold brew this (I’ve been cold brewing a lot this week) over night. After about 12 hours, the taste was a little weak, so I gave it another couple hours and tried again. Better this time, though still mellow.

This is what I consider a nice light refreshing tea. Something you can gulp down easy on a hot day, and feel hydrated. There’s not much but a fresh taste at the front of the sip, but mid sip the fruit pokes it’s head up, and sticks around through the end of the sip, leaving a sweet tropical fruit taste, accented by a slight green taste, not quite vegetal, just fresh and sort of crisp.

The fact that you dot get much until mid sip is the reason I can see myself chugging this. Another one I might be on my reorder list.

I just ordered several samples from The Persimmon Tree when they had free shipping. Seven samples at a dollar each, muahaha! I hope I like them too. :)

Ooh whatcha get?

Oh, you want me to list them out! Hah, okay. I got Butterscotch, Coconut Creme, Green Caramel, Banana Coconut, Rooibos Vanilla Chai, Thai Chai, and Mandarin Cream. Just various flavored teas that sounded good! :P

Another backlog from this week. This came as a sample with my small order from Persimmon Tree. I’m not sure I would have picked this one out… I love Della Terra’s Pineapple Upside Down Cake but am not the biggest fan of green tea. Oddly enough, my order from them was green and white teas and no black tea (probably why they sent me a sample of green).. strange for me as black is my “go to” base.

Dry this smells mostly green and grassy to me.. not something I would buy if I smelled it in a shop. It steeps up to a nice green base that isn’t too vegetal/green for me, although I’m becoming more comfortable with them as time goes by. I can sense the fruitiness of the blend, but if asked to describe it I’m not sure I’d come up with pineapple. I understand that the name is Green Pineapple, implying that green comes first I would assume. There is just a fruity sweet smell to it that lightly translates to the flavor. I am glad to have tried this one but not one I would purchase… I would need more distinct pineapple to consider it again.

Nearly as good as the DavidsTea Pineapple Oolong but it is a bit lighter. One thing I really like (that some people won’t) is that it doesn’t taste at all like green tea. I did the first steeping for 2 minutes, the 2nd for 3 minutes and it even lasted a 3rd that I kept in there for… awhile. Each time it was a nice balanced flavor and a smooth ending.

I did add sweetener for the first two cups which really brings out the pineapple flavor.
