Description

Grown using traditional, organic methods from 800m above sea level from “WangChun” (Forever Spring) Mountain, this oolong is one of the original varietals from Anxi, dating back 300 years. Sometimes known as “Bergamot Oolong” for it’s strong citrus notes, this is the only light varietal from Anxi that’s considered to have a warming qi and is recommended for exercises in contemplation.
Dry Leaf Aroma: Delicate with soft, citrus flowers
Wet Leaf Aroma: Sweet custard, wild honey, orchids and chestnut
Body: The lemon-shaped leaves of this oolong are the largest one finds within the tikwanyin family; a fitting name for such generous trees. Notes of bergamot and Asian citrus ride the fragrant waves of the heated leaf. Although light bodied, each infusion is warm and inviting with it’s buttery texture reminiscent of a flaky pastry. The flavor profile follows a meandering path where high floral notes fade and reappear between infusions. Later cups simply refresh the palate with softer and sweeter versions of it’s perfumed past.
Finish: Cooling citrus peel
Qi: Gently warming and meditative
