The lovely people at Teas, Etc sent me a sample and I am very grateful! How DID they know I LOVE mint!? Lucky guess, I suppose…lol…

I can smell a strong mint and lemon aroma. It’s on the verge of medium brown in color.

Would it be wrong of me to just snort this for the rest of the day!? By snort – I don’t mean that literally. I am sure some of your are just TRYING to picture that…especially YOU Rabs! :) (I’m soooo glad I can joke with most of you!)

A nice light black tea taste with much mint and lemon. This is perfectly done…or at least darned near. Everything/One seems to be JIVE TALKIN’ and I like it!!!! The ingredients are not only playing nice with eachother they are all dressed up in their disco shoes and ready to do the shuffle together!

Yummy to My TummY!

Oh man! I might love this. It tastes a lot like Sleepytime, but better. Much, much, better. The mint is standing tall in the front and the black tea is just a balancing component. I expected this to taste like black tea with some mint flavor, but instead it tastes like mint tea with a smidgen of black tea. I think I am going to be wishing for more than a sample of this one, especially once my husband finds it (he is the sleepytime tea drinker in our house).

Update – this has no bitterness or astringency. Also seems to be a nice pick-me-up rather than the calming effect of a night tea.

Wow! Lemon grass and mint – a perfect combination . The mint tempers the tanginess of the lemon and the lemongrass gives the mint a tang. Wonderful iced.

Very good mint flavor. I can smell the lemongrass but not really taste it. A bit less powerful than I prefer because there’s more herbs than black tea but it tastes good enough I don’t much care.

Sipdown no. 112 of the year 2014. A sample.

A colorful, geometric (because of the lemongrass), attractive mix. The dry leaf smells very minty, with a little citrus.

The liquor is tawny, like a dark lion color. The aroma is herbal—mostly minty.

Mine is a little on the thin side, and as I’ve used my entire sample I can’t go back and adjust leaf/water/time and temp to test whether this was just a one-off result or a general characteristic of this tea. I mostly taste the mint and a little lemon. I don’t taste much black tea, but I do get an undercurrent.

I can see this being a really nice iced tea, and I think I’d quite enjoy it hot as well if I could get it a bit stronger. There’s nothing at all offensive about it—on the contrary, it has a really nice mint flavor that’s mellowed slightly by the lemon and vice versa.

I can’t rate it extremely high based on this one experience, but I like it well enough to put it on the wish list if I ever get out of lockdown and order from Teas Etc. again.

Ahhh, just saw your reference to lockdown. Now your high sipdown count makes sense ;)

Yes, I’m desperately trying to reduce my collection by about 80 percent. It’s going to take a while. ;-)

And I thought mine was bad! =P I’m a novice when it comes to overwhelming tea collections. Steepster makes me feel better…
