Description

Old Grove Water Immortal
Moderate Caffeine
Phoenix Mountain, Guangdong
Steepings: 6

Skillfully twisted and charcoal fire roasted to create a tea full of dark cinnamon notes finished with hints of honey. One of the oldest forms of oolongs in the world, its culture exceeding 1000 years in Southern China in an area called Phoenix Mountain. Many of the trees these oolongs are harvested from are well over 100 years old, and are therefore called Old Grove. “Gong Fu Tea”, or meticulous and expert tea ceremony, originated in this area with this very tea.

Spring 09 Taste Notes:
The leaves are highly oxidized and baked, resulting in a dark, cured, woody brew with a hint of nutmeg.
