Phoenix Mountain Oolong, or Phoenix Dan Cong, is a famous tea from Guangdong province in China. The infusion has a deep amber colour and fresh fruity bouquet. The complex and rich aroma reveals notes of wild rose, strawberry and lichee. The taste is very smooth with no bitterness of astringency. The lingering aftertaste remind you of sweet potato and osmanthus.
Hand-picked on Phoenix Mountain, Guangdong, China in May 2014. We source our Phoenix Dan Cong from a tea forest situated at ~1,000 m altitude. Phoenix Mountain is located in the very east of Guangdong province of China. The warm climate with 1800 mm of rainfall each year keep the tea gardens in clouds and fog almost all the time. Significant temperature drops during the night contributes to the fragrance and distinct aroma of the tea.
