From Tealet

Gopaldhara Queen is a First Flush Darjeeling, harvested in March 2013 to May 2013, from the Darjeeling District in West Bengal, India. Darjeeling tea is a special type of black tea whose flavors vary greatly according to the harvest season.

After being dormant during the long, cold winter months, the tea bushes regrow in spring with strong, full leaves. These leaves appear in early March at lower, warmer elevations, and in May at the higher, colder elevations. This spring harvest, called First Flush, has the brightest flavor of the seasons.

This Darjeeling has a deep, lush fragrance and lively, bold flavors with a bit of sweetness. The aftertaste is pleasantly mild and lasting, lingering on the palate.

This tea is great for black tea drinkers looking to upgrade their tea time. It also makes a great gift for aspiring tea connoisseurs and long-time Darjeeling fans.

Haven’t had this tea in a while and I vaguely remember feeling so-so about it — mostly because I’m just not crazy about darjeeling. It tasted really good today though, very fresh without being too raw. Maybe I steeped it a little differently without realizing? Or maybe my tastebuds have just changed, who knows.
